Recycled 2 liter bottles.

Pinterest really is an amazing place.  After browsing for several minutes....well, more like hours, I got inspired to create my own form or glowing orb using a solor light.  Here is what we created!

Here is what they look like after dark.  We took the pictures in the janitors closet at school because it was the darkest place we could find.  hahaha

I don't have step by step directions, but all we did was cut the top and the bottom off of the 2 liter bottle.  When we taped the solar light onto the top.  We used tissue paper and Mod Podge to decorate them and finally sprayed them with a water repellant sealant.  If I make another one, here are the changes I would make.

1.  Decorate the inside of the bottle instead of the outside.
2.  Use hot glue to adhere the solar light to the bottle instead of electrical tape.
3.  Decorate and seal the 2 liter bottle BEFORE adding the solar light.

Thanks for looking!

May's Card Kit Reveal.....With CARDS!

Hello my friends!

This month Beth sent out this amazing card kit!  I have rubbed my hands over all the different pieces many times.  Aren't new scrappy supplies just wonderful?!?!

This is the kit that just keeps on giving.  I wish I had more time because I know I could have created at least six more cards!  Thanks Beth for putting together such a fun kit.

Here are my cards.

Look how fun!  This was so cute and I love how the image was punched into a tag.

I am giving this one to my great neice for 8th grade graduation.  I added the sentiment "best wishes" and thought the strawberries were just adorable.

I know this one is really plain, but I do love CSC cards.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you check out the other ladies in our group.  They are so creative that I am sure you will be amazed at that they create.

Card Reveal

Each month, four of us participate in a swap.  We each take turns sending out a kit-of-the-month to the other gals and then we reveal our creations on a specific date.  This month, it was my turn to send out the kit.  I had such great ideas in my head, but it didn't turn out like I imagined.  Here is what everyone received.  Everyone also received a piece of twine.  I forgot to include it in this image.  All the patterned papers are from Jilly Bean and the stamped images are from Unity.

Anyway, here is what I created.

On the card, I tried a new technique I saw on Pinterest.  If I was a good blogger, I would include the link for you, but I just discovered that I am not a very good pinner either because I forgot to pin it!  Since I ran out of room, the greeting is on the inside of the card.  It reads, "A basket full of Wishes."  If you would like to see what the others created, please follow the links below.  I am sure these ladies created something amazing!  They are a super talented group of gals.

April Kit

Here is an image for our kit.  I hope you found something that spurred your creativity.  Each of you did get different colors of crochet flowers, so I hope that is OK.

I can't wait to see what you create!

April Christmas Card Challenge

No, I am not April fooling either!  LOL  I set a goal at the beginning of the year to work on my Christmas cards every month and so far, I have stuck to it!  I have not counted, but I know I have at least 20 cards done!!!

Anyway, this challenge will be posted over at Scrappin' Mojo if you would like to play along.  Everyone there is super nice and really is very creative.  It is like one of those best kept secrets.  hahaha

This challenge is to create a card or a layout with a multiple of three.  I used three squares for my card.
You could use three flowers, buttons, different PPs or just whatever you like as long as something is a multiple of three.

Here is my example.

Yes, I need to work on my photography skills.  Here is a close up.

Thanks for looking and I hope you play along!

Signs of Spring

It is spring in Ohio and the woods are starting to come alive!  That means wild flowers are poking their heads  up from a long winter's nap, the trees are budding, and the mushrooms will be popping.  We went out on the ATV to look for some 'shrooms, but didn't find any. :(

There is one of the trails we use.  As you can see, it is really close to the creek.

We usually find our first one beside that big tree along the trail.  It looks like it is leaning toward the creek.

Here is a tree that is on down the trail.  You would not believe how BIG this tree is!  I bet it is at least 5 feet wide.  I sure hope no one cuts it down.  The neighbors are timbering their property and that makes me nervous.

Here are a few of the early spring flowers.  We are suppose to get a killing freeze tomorrow, so it is a good thing a lot of plants aren't up yet.

This is what we call a yellow johnny jump up.  These are most common in purple, but you can find them in white too.  They are some of my favorite spring flowers.

We call this a chick-a-dee.  It kind of looks like a little chicken with yellow feet up cloase.

I don't know what this last flower is, but it was growing all by itself.  Check out the leaf!  It is all in one piece.  It has a bright yellow center that did not show up very well with my camera.

Thanks for joining me on a trip through the woods.  We will be out again soon in hopes of finding the elusive morel mushroom!

PTI Blog Hop

This is the first time I have ever played along and participated in the PTI Blog Hop!  YEAH!!!  PTI has some of the most amazing stamps ever and this color challenge was so inspiring that I had to play along.

I used the sentiment from the Blooming Button Bits Stamp Set.  This is also the first time I have ever tried to stamp with two different colors of ink!  I think I am hooked!!!

Anyway, here is my card.

Here is a close up.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a great day!!!
