Crafty Creations--Mother's Day Challenge #220

Good morning!  Yes, we have another great challenge at Crafty Creations!  It is to create something for Mother's Day.  I lost my mom a couple years ago to leukemia, so I did not want to make a card.  I decided to make a door hanger so if I ever get the time to take a nap, I will be ready.

 

 

Here is a close up of the flower cluster.  I really like the way it turned out.  I made the big pink flower out of book paper and then sprayed it with color.

 

Here is another close up so you can see the details on the flower.  As you know, I am in love with book paper.

Friends with Flair Friday!!!

I have said it before and I will say it again, I just love Friday's Friends with Flair at Unity!  The and simple style has always amazed me.  It is just stunning when I see something created in this style.  This week, I decided to give it a try and I must say....I like it better when someone else does it.  hahaha  Anyway, here is my attempt.  It was a lot harder than I thought and took me much longer than keeping with my own style.

April Card Kit Club

This month our lovely kit was put together by Mara.  Here is want she sent to each member of our group.  It is always so much fun to see what each person has put together.  Thanks Mara!!!

 

 

 

I decided to make a birthday card with one of the images that my mom colored for me before she passed away.  The papers in the kit matched it perfectly!

Here is the second card.  As you know I am totally addicted to paper flowers, so I had to add a couple.

Friends with Flair Friday

I missed you guys!!!  I did not get to play along last week, and it just did not feel like a normal Friday.  This week, I was determined to play along and I can't wait to pop around to everyone's blog and see what all of you create.

 

This is what the full card looks like.  It has a Fall feel which is not what I was going for considering it is Spring, but I still like the way it turned out.  In the text, it even says "April" which I thought was kind of cool.  I discovered that when I took the picture.

Crafty Creations---No Patterned Paper

As you know, I have been in love with old book paper and paper flowers.  This week at Crafty Creation, the challenge is to not use patterned paper, so....I used book paper instead!  It is really cool how the ink spreads on the old paper, so coloring was a challenge at first.  I sure hope you join us this week!

 

 

Here is a different angle.  I am working on my photography and trying to find angles that are interesting.

Friends with Flair Friday

Once again, it is time for Unity's Friends with Flair!  I always enjoy popping around to all the different blogs and seeing everyone's creations.  I am still stuck on these paper flowers and I love using pages from old books.  Here is my creation this week.

 

 

 

The image is embossed with Tim Holtz distressing powder.  I really like the feel it gave the image on the book paper.  You do have to be very careful though using old paper and a heat embosser.  Yes, I almost caught it on fire.

 

 

For those of you that don't know, there is a new card challenge blog out there called Sister Act Card Challenge.  They are posting their challenges every Friday and it is always anything goes!  How fun it that going to be?

Crafty Creations Challenge--Fairies and Flowers

This week we have another great challenge and sponsor at Crafty Creations!   The challenge is to use fairies and/or flowers on your creations.  How fun and easy is that?!?! 

 

The sponsor is LOTV or Lily of the Valley!  They have some of the most adorable images ever!!!  In fact, this image is called Birthday Fairy and you can buy her here.  She is just adorable!!!  The winner of this challenge sure will have a hard time picking out their prize because of all the lovely images. 

 

 

If you have followed my blog at all, you will know that I a addicted to these little paper flowers.  I just can't seem to get enough of them.

 

I am not sure if it is showing up or not, but I added glaze to give her a little 3D.
