Meet LizArd

This year, I have a couple new guests in my classroom.  One of my students brought in two fence lizards.  I didn't even know that these lizards were native to our area.  They can grow up to 6" long!

We have had a time with them as over a break, they got out of the tank.  Someone had moved the logs and they climbed out.  We found one the same day we came back but the other one we thought must have gotten back outside.  Almost a week later, another student found in two classrooms down!!!  My students were so excited that we got them both back.  Anyway, I would like for you to meet.....

Liz.  She is the pig of the two and eats crickets like mad!  One day she ate seven in a row.  She is about three inches long from nose to tip of tail.

This is Ard.  He is the runt of the two.  He is only about 1.5" long and does not eat near as much.  We don't know if that is because Liz eats it all or he just does not need as much food.  hahaha  Ard has had a tough time with his tail.  He lost part of it in the wild and then again in the tank.  We are not sure what happened, but think Liz might have thought it was food.

They both really like each other and "cuddle" at night.  Sometimes, Liz will use Ard as a pillow.   I will keep you posted on them.  They have been so much fun and the kids seem to really love them.

September Kit Reveal!

With August being so busy, we decided to move our August reveal date to September.

This was my month to host and I had so much fun putting this kit together.

Here is what I created.

First I made this card.  I wanted to use the ribbon as I have seen other use it and always like the way it looks.

I also made this gift box.  It would be fun to fill it with candy and leave it on someone's desk as a nice little surprise.

Here is a close up of my flowers!  I am getting better!!!

Thanks for looking and please check out the other ladies in our group.  Here are the links to their blogs.  Enjoy!!!

Friday Friends with Flair!

Is it Friday again?  My, my, my time sure does fly.  Which brings up the question?  Have you made any Christmas cards yet?  It will be here before you know it!

Here are the ones I made this week.  Of course, I used my Unity Stamps and love how they turned out.

Have you tried these before?  They are wonderful for doing multiple colors on one stamp.  They are so "juicy" that you can color several different colors on one stamp before it dries.  I LOVE them!  I always love finding something new and wonderful, so I hope you don't mind that I shared.

Anyway, thanks for looking and I hope you have a great FRIDAY!!!

Another card share...

Don't you just love all the great challenge blogs out there?

This week, I came across a few that I just could not resist.  At Inky Impressions, they have a challenge where you are to use dies or punches.  Now, how easy is that?

At Paper Take Weekly, they have a challenge called "make your own."  This challenge was perfect for me because I have been trying and trying to make paper flowers.  After several videos and tons of trial and errors, I finally ended up with something I was willing to share.

As always, thanks for looking and coming up with all these GREAT challenges!

Card Share

I made a couple cards today while waiting for the storm.  I made this card for CASology where the cue card this week is Fruit.  I had this patterned paper on my desk that it worked perfectly!  The sentiment reads, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but if the doctor is cute forget the fruit!"  LOL

At Fab 'n' Funky, their challenge is no stamped images.  At first that sounded difficult, but it really is a fun challenge!

Thanks for looking and all the work that goes into maintaining a challenge blog!

It's reveal time!

There are four ladies in our group and we take turns sending out a card kit each month.  We are to use the materials in that kit to create at least one card and then share it on a specific date.  July was Joni's month.  She put together a fun kit for us to use.

She also sent us a digi image that we could use.  Joni is very creative and has come up with some of the cutest girls ever!  I made a card using her, but will save it for last as it is my favorite.

Here are the cards I created.

In the kit, Joni sent us strips of white fabric along with a link to a tutorial on making fabric flowers.  Well, I'm addicted!  I love making them.  They are so much fun!!!

I also made this card.  Yes, I entered this card in last week's FWF over at Unity, so you may have seem this one before.

And, here is the last one...my favorite.  The papers are from Christy Tomlinson's SheArt line, so in true Christy style, I paper pieced her dress.

Thanks for stopping by!  Please stop by the other gal's blogs to see how they used the kit.  It is always so much fun to see how everyone used the kit differently.  Next month is my month.  I already have the kits put together and ready to mail.
Here are the links to their blogs.  They live on the West coast so it may be later today when they get their things published, but trust me, they will be worth seeing!

CAS card

WOW!  Two shares in one day!  It rained today and was the perfect day to create.  I also found a couple challenge blogs that really inspired me.  Over at CASology, they give you one word and they you go with it.  This weeks word is "happy."

Over at Fab 'n' Funky, they have the challenge to make your own flowers.  My friend Joni hooked me onto making these fabric flowers!  They are very addictive.

Here is a close up of my flower.  It isn't even blurry!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great day!
