Friend's with Flair and a challenge

I just love Friend's with Flair.  Here is a card I made using a couple different stamp sets.  The flower came from the Eco Chic collection and the sentiment came from Something Within collection.

As inspiration, I used the card sketch from Paper Players.  It really is a great sketch and really worked well what I was wanting to create.

I crochet this flower a while ago along with the leaf.  You are not going to believe this, but I made them while walking on the treadmill!

Thanks for looking and I have a great springy day!

Where the Wild Things Are....Shoes

My daughter saw a post on pinterest about a pair of shoes with Where the Wild Things Are painted on them, so she decided to try to make a pair for herself.  She decided to try on an old pair of shoes from last year.  Here is how they turned out!

I will be honest and say that when she showed them to me, I was shocked!  I never expected them to turn out as cute as they did.  Here is a close up of the right foot.

And here is the left.

She has received several compliments on them and yes, I am a proud mama.  hahaha

Friends with Flair Friday!!!

YEAH!!!!  It is Friday and means it is time for Unity's Friend's with Flair.  Last week was a great week and I so enjoyed seeing what everyone created.  This week, I made a card for my friend at school.  I wanted to make something that might cheer her up a little and help her deal with what she is going through.

I am not very good at shading with copics, so on this card, I used colored pencils to do my shading.  It is so much easier for me.  hahaha

Once again, I had to add one of those little paper flowers.  I am in love with them.  Thanks for stopping by and I sincerely hope you have a great day!

March Card Kit Club

This month, I got to host the card kit club!  I had so much fun putting this kit together and like how it turned out.  This is the first time I have ever tried to do the "chalk board" look.  It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be.  Anywhere, here is the kit and....

Here is the first card that I created.  I got a new die and used it to make the flower.  I used one of the buttons for the center.

This is the second card that I made.  I am not sure I like the way it turned out, but I had to use the little umbrella die that came with the MFT stamps.

Thanks for looking and I hope you stop by the other's blogs and leave them a little love.  Have a great day!

Crafty Creations Challenge--Embossing

This week at Crafty Creations, we have an amazing sponsor.  A Day for Daisies has the most amazing digi stamps!  You can truly find a stamp for any occasion, so please check them out.  The winner of this challenge will receive a gift certificate, so they will surely have a good time shopping at A Day for Daisies.

I always like to look around our sponsors site before we post a challenge,  While I was visiting A Day for Daisies, I found this stamp.  She is called Blessing a Flower and I had to have her.

Anyway, the challenge is to use some sort of embossing on your card or use paper that already is embossed.  Here is the card I created.  I was going for serenity while making this card because sometimes our days get so busy that we just need to escape.

I am really looking forward to seeing what everyone creates!   Thanks for stopping by and I sincerely hope you have a great day!

Snow Day Crafting

When I went to bed last night there was not a speck of snow anywhere!  However, the weather forcast did not sound good.  I woke up at 2 and looked outside.  The phone rang at 5:30 am and I knew what was coming.  School is cancelled.  When I got out of bed this morning, this is what it looked like outside.  Thank goodness we did not get as much as they predicted.  We could have gotten up to 8" of the white stuff.

This is a picture out my back door.  You can see one of our dogs in the back yard enjoying the freshly fallen snow.

This is out my front door.  I love how the snow is sticking to the trees and making them look magical.

Since I had some "free" time, I decided to play in my scraproom for a while.  First, I had to surf around blogville for a while and see what challenges were out there.  I noticed a common thread....green.  Therefore, I made this card in between loads of laundry.

I am really into using book pages on my cards.  I don't know what it is about them, but I really like the way it looks.  I am also really getting into twine and the two go together like green eggs and ham.  Last week, was Dr. Seuss' birthday if you didn't already know.

Here is my close-up of my flower cluster.  My friend Beth, turned me onto paper flowers and I LOVE using them!!!

At church, we have what is called Secret Sister.  Each month, we are to but a $5 gift for them. I found this spring drinking glass and pack of Easter tissues.  I used the same flowers and materials for this tag, but different patterned papers.

Here is another close-up.  I hope she likes it.

I am going to enter the card into the following challenges...

Crafty Creations #212 Challenge--Use Green

I am so excited to be a part of the Crafty Creations Design Team that I get all giggly inside thinking about it.  This week, Crafty Creations has a wonderful sponsor and a great prize.  Stamp Fairy is going to give one lucky winner a super cute prize, so be sure to check them out and play along.

I was able to use two of their images this week.  This first one is called Clementine.  She is the sweetest little bunny just hanging out in the flowers.

My creation opens up to reveals a couple seed packs that I am going to give to my new neighbor.  Spring is just around the corner and she said just the other day that she wants to plant a salad garden.  I can't wait to give this to her and hear her squeal.  : )

Here is another stamp from Stamp Fairy.

Thanks for stopping by and I sure hope you play along this week at Crafty Creations!  I will be sure to stop by your blog and take a look at your creations.

Sister Act Challenge Blog

While I was surfing around the blogville, I found this new and exciting site called Sister Act Card Challenge.  The concept behind this challenge blog is that every week, anything goes!!!  Who does not love an anything goes challenge?  They are planning on posting their challenges on Fridays, so everyone will have the weekend to play!.  To apply for the Design Team, each applicant is suppose to post three of their favorite cards and link back to the Sister Act blog.

Creating cards has become my refuge and release.  It gives me a place to go and disappear from the world for a while.  Here are my three favorites that I have created over the several months.
This card I made just this weekend.  I really like the way it came out and plan on giving it to my friend who is going through a really rough time in her life.

I made this card just because.  I wanted to make a "happy" card and this is what I came up with.

This last card was part of a Card Kit Club that I am a member of at Scrappin' Mojo.  Each month, one person sends a kit to the others in the group and then we each make a card using the materials.  On the 20th of the month, we reveal our card on our blogs and hop around.  It is really a lot of fun and always amazing how differently the card turn out.

Thanks for taking the time to look at my creations and considering me for your design team!

Have a great day!!!

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge

I have a good friend at church that has recently gone through a lot in her personal life.  Over at Sunday Sketch and Stamp, I fell in love with the sketch posted today and made this card for my friend.

I just received an order of new dies, so of course, I had to try them out!

The inside just seemed so white, so I decided to punch out a flower that matched the patterned paper on the front and glue it inside.  It really turned out cute!  I will be doing this more in the future!

As always, thanks for looking and have a great day!!!

Quirky Crafts

This week, I am a guest design for Quirky Crafts challenge blog!  YEAH!!!  There challenge is called Make a Quirky Mess.   It is about making your own background and getting as messy as possible doing that so use paints, inks that sort of thing. Who does not enjoy getting a little messy from time to time?

This week, Quirky Crafts has three sponsors!  That is right...three!!!  Crafty Ribbons, Bugaboo and Squigglefly are all giving away a prize, so three lucky people are going to get to do some happy shopping!   One of their sponsors is Squigglefly and they have some of the cutest digi images ever!  As soon as I saw this little girl with a paint brush, I knew exactly what I wanted to do with her.

Here is a close-up of the title and I think everyone can agree that sometimes life does get messy.  : )

And, here is a close-up of my sweet, sweet little girl getting messy, but having a ball.

I sure hope you pop over to Quirky Crafts and give this challenge a try.  It would give you a good excuse to break out the paints and yes, get messy.  Also, winning this week's prize would be amazing!!!  Be sure to check out this weeks sponsor.  You will not be disappointed.

Thanks for looking!

Friends with Flair

I always look forward to Unity's Friends with Flair every Friday.  It is always so nice to see how everyone uses their Unity stamps each week.  Isn't it always amazing beautiful and different each card looks.  Here is the card I created this week.  I just loved this stamp and wanted to make a "soft" looking card for my friend at school who is always there for me.  In fact, when I went back to school after my surgery, she had my dinner fixed so I would not have to worry about it when I got back home.  She said I would be really tired.

As always, thanks for looking and I hope you have a great day!!!
