Stocking

At school we had a stocking decorating contest. I was surprised at the amount of teachers that participated. There were 22 stockings for the kids to vote on as being the best. The stocking that won lit up! Talk about being competative! Anyway, here is my stocking. Can you tell, I just love making these kids?
Thanks for looking!

Christmas Angel

Here is a picture of the SheArt angel that I made at school with my friends Katey and Olivia. I hope they post pictures of their angels too because they turned out so cute! She spreads Christmas cheer
How do you put a hard return in blogger? All my sentences run together even though I space them out with the enter key.

Christmas...

Since Christmas is over, I decided to change my blog header. It is really dark, but I like it! Aren't snowflakes just beautiful! We have not seem much snow this year and I am really looking forward to the first heavy snowfall.
This is the same snowflake as in my header, but bigger. Isn't it beautiful?! It is so hard to believe that no two snowflakes alike. One thing that I love to do is walk out in the yard and scoop snow up in my hand. If you look at it closely, you can see all the different designs and it truly is amazing. My mom always liked the snow too. I am really missing her today.

She Art Girl

This is the last girl I wanted to make for Christmas. She came together really quickly once I had what I wanted her to say. This is for my friend at school who takes beautiful photographs.
There are things about her I really like and things I wish I did differently. Did you see the boots? They are made out of a fuzzy artificial leaf. I paper pieced the camera which is kind of plain, but I like the straps. The hair did not turn out like I had hoped, but I like the way it falls over her face. Well, thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!

Christmas Ornaments

Here are a couple watercolor ornaments that I made based upon the class "The 12 Artsy Ornaments." There were a lot of fun to make.
This one if my favorite.
And here they are both together.
Thanks for looking! Now I need to work on my Christmas cards.

Today...

I have so much I want to get accomplished today all dealing with Christmas! Doesn't that sounds like a wonderful day? Anyway, as I was surfing different blogs, I found a couple of sayings on Junelle Jacobson's blog that I want to turn into SheArt girl sayings. Look into the eyes of those you love. See God~ Let go of expectations... and see it all as a sweet gift of grace. Won't those make beautiful girls?

Ornaments

Here is what I have done so far. I LOVE making these and will probably do more soon. I want to try them on a piece of paper and not just on canvas.
I tried to take a couple close-up images, but for some reason they won't upload. I will try again later, but for now this is all I have. Thanks for looking!

My ornaments!

Wait until you see them! They are turning out cute, cute, cute! I tried to sound like Christy or Junelle while I typed that. :) All I have to do is add the final layer of mod podge and they are done! I will post a picture tomorrow before I add the mod podge in the event it messes them up.

Today's Assignment

Since some of my friends like to design clothes, I would like to make an assignment. Design funky snow hats! Sketch out several different designs and this week, we will try to make one after school. I can't wait to see what you create! I'll bring my sketches too, so don't think this is just for you. Hey Joni! If you play along too, we would love to see your hats too!!!

Just a Saturday

No, Olivia I am not going to post that I went to feed the dogs... LOL Today was very productive! I started two of the ornaments from the online class that I am taking called 12 Artsy Ornaments for Christmas. This is one of the instructor's image. Her name is Junelle Jacobson and I just LOVE her style!
Aren't those adorable! I am sure mine won't look nearly as nice, but they sure are fun to create. Hopefully, I will be able to post a picture tomorrow. I have the block painted, girl sketched and hat cut out. I also started one of the watercolor ornaments on book paper by Alisa Burke. I am down to the detail and then to stuff. I know mine won't look nearly as nice, but they too are fun to make. Here is the link to her blog. Check it out! She is also very creative!!! I hope all my friends are having a good day and enjoying their weekend!

Christmas Decorations

Here are some of our decorations. Carley did a really good job putting everything up and the house really is looking festive.
This is the tree in the living room. Carley made the little neighbor boy help with the decorations. It was so funny because he thought it looked done after about 10 ornaments!
The cats LOVE the trees! This is Lily asleep under her tree in the morning room.
Thanks for looking! More decorations to come!

Scrapping Friends

Here is a picture I wanted to share with you. Here are two super great girls that always make me smile.
Katey and Olivia are currently working on a Christmas Angels. I am also working on one, but will take a picture of it later.

Found!

I found it! I purchased a necklace from my friend and could not find it. I about freaked out at school today looking for it, but it was here at home safe and sound. I am also so excited that I have a new follower! Yes! I am up to two! Look Joni! It is Katey! More to come later this evening....

First Card!!!

I know these are pretty plain, but this year it is the best that I can do. I really like how clean they will look and they should not take me a lot of time to complete them.
The coloring is off because the picture was taken without natural night. Thanks for looking!

Idea to share...

Since I am really behind making my Christmas cards this year, I searched for a simple card design that I could scrap-lift. Here is what I found. I can't wait to get started!
Wish me luck!

To all my loyal followers....

LOL! I am going to keep this blog. I checked most of the links on my old one and very few of them are working. It would take a lot of work to edit it and I really like the way this one looks nice and clean. hahaha By the way, I started coloring!

Christmas Cards

I am so excited to have finally started on my Christmas cards. well, I should say that I have something printed and paper purchased. Now to color the image, design, cut and glue. well, this all sounded like I was further along in my head as to typing it.

Last two...for now...

Yes, I really, really enjoy making these girls. I am giving most of these away as Christmas presents. I have two more in progress and one at school that I am working on with my girls. Hopefully, there will be time tonight to start on my Christmas girl.
And here is the last one. I like the way she turned out and yet there is something about her that rubs me the wrong way.
Thanks for taking the time to look. Have a great day!

Mini Workshop

I just signed up for a mini workshop with Christy Tomlinson. I think it looks like a lot of fun!

A couple more girls...

Here are a couple more girls I wanted to show you. I purchased a couple 12x12 canvases today for my Christmas girl. At Michael's they had them on sale, buy one and get one free. I paid 7.00 for four 12x12s. That was a pretty good deal! Anyway, here are my girls.... This was my very first girl. I really like the way she turned out.
I can't decide if I am finished with this one. I think the background is too bare. What do you think? Be honest....
One more and then off to fix dinner. Doug is having steak and baked potatoes. I am not sure what I am having. This one is one of my favorites. I wanted her to say...She wanted to grow old with him, but it made me too sad.
Thanks for looking! Are you surprised that I have actually posted something?

More girls...

I so enjoy working on these SheArt girls. I can go to my craft room for just 20-30 minutes in the evening and forget about everything. This girl says...She felt loved by her family
Here is another one. She was one of the first ones that I made. Now that I look at her, I really don't like the way all the "stuff" turned out on the left. I tried to add dimension. She says...She delights in mystery. I made her for a friend of mine that LOVES to read. It is going to be a Christmas present...maybe.
One more for today and then I need to get ready to go. Carley is already in the shower and I am still in my nightgown. hahaha This is one that I made with Katey and Olivia at school. There is sheet music in the background. If you need a piece for a Christmas Carol angel, please let me know. I can send you a piece of Christmas music. She says...She trusts in God.
More to come! You will probably think I am crazy, but I still have five more to post. hahaha

SheArt Girls

Here are the girls I have been working on for a while now. I keep going back to them and adding something here and something there, so I can't offically say that any of them are done except for this one. She is my favorite and I love her. She sees the beauty in every single snowflake
I know you will probably think I am crazy, but here are the others.
