Signs of Spring

It is spring in Ohio and the woods are starting to come alive!  That means wild flowers are poking their heads  up from a long winter's nap, the trees are budding, and the mushrooms will be popping.  We went out on the ATV to look for some 'shrooms, but didn't find any. :(

There is one of the trails we use.  As you can see, it is really close to the creek.

We usually find our first one beside that big tree along the trail.  It looks like it is leaning toward the creek.

Here is a tree that is on down the trail.  You would not believe how BIG this tree is!  I bet it is at least 5 feet wide.  I sure hope no one cuts it down.  The neighbors are timbering their property and that makes me nervous.

Here are a few of the early spring flowers.  We are suppose to get a killing freeze tomorrow, so it is a good thing a lot of plants aren't up yet.

This is what we call a yellow johnny jump up.  These are most common in purple, but you can find them in white too.  They are some of my favorite spring flowers.

We call this a chick-a-dee.  It kind of looks like a little chicken with yellow feet up cloase.

I don't know what this last flower is, but it was growing all by itself.  Check out the leaf!  It is all in one piece.  It has a bright yellow center that did not show up very well with my camera.

Thanks for joining me on a trip through the woods.  We will be out again soon in hopes of finding the elusive morel mushroom!

PTI Blog Hop

This is the first time I have ever played along and participated in the PTI Blog Hop!  YEAH!!!  PTI has some of the most amazing stamps ever and this color challenge was so inspiring that I had to play along.

I used the sentiment from the Blooming Button Bits Stamp Set.  This is also the first time I have ever tried to stamp with two different colors of ink!  I think I am hooked!!!

Anyway, here is my card.

Here is a close up.

Thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a great day!!!

Unity Stamps and card reveal

Here is what I received from Joni....

I thought I had deleted this image, but found it in a different file!  YEAH!!!!This kit was so amazing and wonderful to play with.  THANK YOU Joni!!!  This has been a super fun experience I can't wait to put a kit together for next month!

Here is the first card I made with this beautiful kit!  What a wonderful sentiment from Unity Stamps and a little advice everyone should take.

I made this card with an image my wonderful and creative friend Joni made!  Isn't she just cute, cute, cute! Anyway, the sentiment if from Unity Stamps and is called Hello My Friend.  I thought it fit perfectly with the girl.

This card also has a sentiment from Unity Stamps from the set called Happy for this Moment, but I didn't use the papers from the kit that Joni sent.  I am so loving these sentiments!!!  I still have TONS of goodies left and will play with them this weekend.

If you would like to check out the rest of the cards with the kit, please stop by the following blogs.  We all had the same kit to play with, so it will be a lot of fun to see how everyone used it differently!

March Christmas Tag Challenge

Here is my take on Joni's tag challenge.  It was so much fun and I just love how it turned out!

Here is a card I made after watching a YouTube video of Faber Castel Gelatos.  It showed to cut two of the exact came shapes.  Decorate one and score it along the top.  That will be the front of the card.  Adhere it to the other shape and you are done!  It was so easy!!!

My friend sent me the sentiment.  I think it is from Unity Stamps.

I am taking an online class on making clean and simple cards.  Here is the first one I have made based on that class.

Thanks for looking!
