Crafty Creation Challenge #270--Dig Deep

This is the challenge for me!  This week our challenge is about using up our stash.  Here is the card I created.

I really had to dig deep for these patterned papers.  I am thinking they are at least 7-10 years old.  I hope you get to play along.

Crafty Creations Challenge #257--Let's Party!

We have a brand new challenge at Crafty Creations and it is time to Party!  hahaha  All you have to do is create a card for a party.  It could be Birthday, Graduation, Christmas, Picnic, or anything that relates to a party.

Fresh Brewed Designs is also giving away a great prize to one lucky winner selected my Mr. Random.  Personally, I think we need to name him, but we would not want to give anyone the wrong impression.

As you may or may not know, my camera is broken.  Therefore, I am taking pictures with my iPad.  Of course there is an app for playing with your images, so I played.  Here is the card I created using an image and sentiment from Fresh Brewed Designs.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you get to join us at Crafty Creations!

Sketch 'N Dies Challenge

Hey everyone!

We have another new sketch for inspiration this month at Sketch N Dies.  It is one that I created a very long time ago.

Our sponsor is Sparkle N Sprinkle!  One thing I really love about their images is that not only do you get the image, you also get a colored image as well.  Sometimes, that is really nice to have around if you need a card in a hurry.

I used "Old Friends" image.  You can find it here.  The inside sentiment reads....

When getting LUCKY means
finding my car in the parking lot...
When all the names in my BLACK BOOK
have MD written after them....
I promise you, we will still be FRIENDS.

Here is the card I created.  I colored the image myself, so this is not the one that you get when you purchase the image.

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you get to join us at Sketch N Dies!

I am sponsoring this challenge and I am so excited!  Here is the prize package I have put together.

It should make some super cute summer cards.

This challenge is to use an image with wings.  It just so happened that the Stamp of the Week at Unity sent out this little cutie.  Penguins have wings.....right?  : )

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great and blessed day.

OMGoodness do we have a fun challenge for you at Crafty Creations.  This challenge is all about Tic Tac Toe.  Here is the board.....

I used Die-Cut, Ribbon, and Circles.  Our sponsor, A Creative Need, provided me with her "Cherries" image.  I don't know about you, but I just LOVE this image.  I glazed over the cherries and it really made them pop.

One lucky participate will receive a gift from A Creative Need, but with so many lovely images, you will have a very difficult time choosing.  Awww...the bitter sweet.  hahaha

As always, thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Senior Picture

I wanted to share one of Carley's senior pictures.  This is just the rough draft, but I really like it.

She always has her nose in a book, so I thought this was perfect.

Garden

This year, I am trying to really work with my garden and get it off to the right start.  I spend 4 solid days weeding and mulching.

Here is a picture I took about a month ago.

It looks completely different now, so I will have to take another picture over the weekend.

Prom

It is hard to believe that my daughter is a senior and will be graduating in less than one month.  Last weekend, was the prom.  She did not have a date, but I am so proud of her and the young lady she has become.  She can stand on her own two feet without depending on someone else.

Here is a picture of her dress.  It is really dark, but you get the idea.

Here is a brighter one.

She had a really good time and I was glad when she made it home safely.

Challenge #258--Happy Birthday!

We have had so much snow that I am over it.  That is saying something considering how much I love it.  I am ready to think spring, flowers, and green.  I am so looking forward to the grass turning green again, but not the lawn mowing.  hahaha

At Crafty Creations, the current challenge is about making a birthday card.  Everyone needs birthday cards from time to time, so this is a perfect challenge to ensure that you are at least one up.  We also have a great sponsor.  Beccy's Place is going to give one lucky person three free digital images from her shop.  Personally, I love that when you purchase a digital stamp from her store, you get one that is already colored too.  I used the pre-colored image for this card.

Thanks for stopping by and as always, have a great day!

Challenge #2 at Sketch n' Dies

Good morning!  March is sure starting off like a lion, so I hope the old saying holds true and will end like a lamb.  We are under a winter storm warning and suppose to get up to 8" of snow today.  I have seen some models show as much as 18", so I sure hope they were WRONG.  : )

I am so excited about this months challenge over at Sketch N' Dies.  and our sponsor.  I admit that I am not one of those wonderful people out there that can color their images flawlessly.  Often, I get out of the lines, but more often then not, cannot do shading.  That is the reason I am so excited about this month's sponsor, Luna Girl.   All the images come colored beautifully!  One lucky winner will receive all the images that the design team used on their creations!

Here is the sketch for this month.

Here is what I created using one of Luna Girl's images.

I sure hope you get to play along.  Oh!  I almost forgot!  The winner of  my blog candy is......julieodil.  Please contact me with your mailing address, so I can send out your prize.

Thanks to everyone for following my blog.  I will be giving more "candy" away this month, so stay tuned.

Carley's Creations

Hey Joni!  Look!  I took pictures!!!

In case any of you don't know, I am not good at taking photographs.  They are usually blurry and I just don't do a good job taking them at all.  For Christmas, my hubby bought me a new camera and I love it.  The pictures are clear and they are super easy to upload to my computer.  With the help of fotoflexer, I can resize them and everything.  Today, I wanted to share what my daughter has been working on at school.

For art class, my daughter had to paint a picture on glass for one of her projects.  She loves Maurice Sendak's illustrations in "Where the Wild Things Are."  Here is her creation based on his work.  The classroom lights are glaring off the glass,  so I hope that does not distort the picture too much.

She also painted the doorway into my classroom.  Our classroom walls are a yucky shade of beige, so she really brightened them up!

Thanks for looking!

A little funny and a card share

We have had a terrible winter.  Lots of snow, ice, and school cancellations.  In fact, we have cancelled school 15 days thus far and still have the rest of February to get through.  Anyway, the last day that we had school, I did a simple experiment with my 4th graders.  They are studying conservation of matter so I gave each of them a piece of bubble gum.  The idea behind the lesson was for the kids to weigh the mass before and after it was chewed and then discuss what caused these changes.  Anyway, as I passed out the gum, one of my boys looked at me and said...."Mrs. Yontz....I can't believe I am this excited to chew a piece of gum."  He was all giggles and was smiling from ear to ear.

The reason for that story is that I can't believe I am this excited to go to school today!  I honestly love my job and the kids make me smile every single day.

Since we did not have school yesterday, I made this card.  I think it is a clean and layered card because of the blank card space.

Here is a close-up of the focal point.  I found a beret of feathers while out shopping and love popping one in here and there.

Thanks for stopping by and I am giving away some blog candy this month for one of my new followers in celebration of the 1st challenge at Sketch n' Dies

I am entering this card in the following challenges.

The Card Concept:  Monochromatic Pink
Crafts Galore:  Use bling
Challenges 4 Everybody:  Anything Goes
Sister Act:  Anything Goes

Valentine Boxes

Last night we had our monthly Women's Ministry meeting at church.  We have a food theme and a gift theme each month.  This month the food was chocolate and the gift theme was Valentines.

We played a game called "yes" or "no."  If you could answer a question yes, you gave yourself a point.  I laughed until I cried and almost peed my pants.  One of the questions was "Did you marry your first love?"  One of the ladies said in a very calm and monotone voice, "No, he married my best friend."  Just the way she said it cracked me up.

At Christmas, my friend Joni made these adorable boxes and filled them with fudge for her friends.  That I decided to make something similar.  Since I had to make 12 of them, I got on line and found a cute vintage valentine image, so I didn't have to color that many images.  Here is how they turned out.

Here is a close up with the fudge.

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

I entered this into Creative Knockout's Challenge:  Be Mine

Playing Around

Since we have had so many snow days, I got to play around in my scraproom.  Here is a card that I made using Glimmer Mist for the flower.  I started with regular book paper, sprayed it and then crunched it up.  Then I flattened the layers back out until they dried.

This is a closer picture.

Thanks for stopping by.  I am giving away some blog candy this month to one of my followers.   This is what I am giving away.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sketch n' Dies Challenge #1

I am so excited to announce that I am part of the Sketch n' Dies Challenge Blog.  I think this is one that everyone will want to play along with because you get a sketch, use a die cut of some sort, have a month to complete the challenge, AND have a chance to win a great prize from one of our sponsors.  How easy is that?

Let's start with the sketch.

Here is my take.

And, this weeks sponsor is Sparkle N' Shine.  One lucky winner will receive a great prize from them that they can add to their scrapping collection.  The digital stamp I used is from the set called Dressed Up.   We could not offer great prizes without our wonderful sponsors, so please take a minute and pop over to Sparkle N' Shine and check them out.  They have a TON of great images and products.

To celebrate our first challenge, I am giving away a little blog candy.   All you have to do to have a chance at winning is leave a comment and follow my blog.

I can't wait to see what you create!  As always, have a great day and thanks for stopping by.
