Quirky Crafts

I have been wanting to make one of these candy holders for a while and the challenge over at Quirky Crafts they had the perfect challenge.  Here is a picture of the finished product.

And here is a close-up of the cluster.  I got a couple new dies.  One was for the lace at the top of the card and the other was for the doily.

This is what is looks like from the side.

The Paper Players

Every once in a while you need a sympathy card, so I decided to make one today thanks to The Paper Players.  I am so glad I stumbled across this challenge blog and plan to follow it for more great challenges.

I have always wanted to make an easel card and since clean and simple is my style, here is what I came up with.

Totally Gorjuss

With the temperatures we have been having around, Totally Gorjuss inspired me to create a fun and full-of-flowers card.

Here is a close-up of the flowers. It was amazing that everything matched so well and from so many different companies. : )

I have had this set of PTI stamps on my shelf for a very long time and this was just the challenge to break them out.

Thanks for looking.

CAS Colours and Sketches

I love it when a challenge inspires me and this week CAS Colours and Sketches did just that!  They posted a sketch that made me want to go scrap!  I did and here is what I created.

I just received an order of new dies, so I used them to make the flower, flourish, and doily.  The patterned paper is from MME.

Happy New Year!

As most of you know, I LOVE the snow!!!  It snowed here the day after Christmas and it is still on the ground.  In fact, we have gotten a little more about every night since then.  YEAH!!!  I am very curious about school tomorrow.....will we have it or will they cancel.

Anyway, over at Scrappin' Mojo, I post monthly challenges.  This year, I wanted to really try to make things fun and different.  The out-of-the-box kind of thing, so that got me thinking.

This month's challenge is going to be to alter a box or make something square.  That should give the ladies a wide variety of things they could create.  Here is my example.  It is a SheArt girl on a little 4x4 canvas.

Last year, I made several of these girls, but this year I only made a few.  They are a blast to make always turn out to be a surprise when they are finished.  I never quite know where I am headed with one until she is done.

Oh, well.  Thanks for looking and if you want to play along with us, all you have to do is click the link above and go to Mary's Corner on the message board.

Goodbye Christmas

This year, Carley wanted to change the colors on our big tree.  We did away with the purple and added in the lime green.  I really like the way it turned out.  The tulle garland was Pinterest inspired.  It looked to quick and easy, but let me tell you.  You are looking at about 6 hours our time.

The tree in the morning room is one of my favorites.  It displays all the ornaments my kids at school give me for Christmas.  Some of the ornaments are several years old.

The last tree for this year is the one in the dining room.

We usually put up another tree with Santa ornaments on it, but because of my surgery, we got behind.  Lord willing, there will be next year. : )

This year, Doug got what he really wanted for Christmas.

I hope you have a great start to the New Year!

December Card Kit Reveal

Hey everyone!

Doesn't time fly!  I almost forgot to post today but I remembered.  When I saw this paper from MME, I fell in love.  Here is the kit I put together for your group this month.  A HUGE thank you to Terry for the picture.  I got so excited and forgot to take the picture first.

I created two cards and a tag.

Beth always has the cutest bows, so every time I make a bow I think....what would Beth do.  hahaha
I also wanted to share my Winter SheArt girl I made a few weeks ago.  The paper I used for the pants just screamed..."Make me into pants.....PLEASE."

If you would like to check out what the others made, here are the links.  Thanks for looking and Merry Christmas!!!
